South Burnett
Online
-
South Burnett Online is the South Burnett's regional Internet portal.
This project was an initiative of the South Burnett Local Government Association
and Networking The Nation and was launched on the Internet in March 2000.
South Burnett Online provides a large number of online facilities for both
locals and visitors including a live and up-to-the-minute regional events
calendar; a community intranet; community Mall; free online classifieds;
a regional Email Directory; a regional search engine; and panoramic South
Burnett electronic postcards amongst many other things. The project is
continually being expanded and now attracts a significant national and
international audience each month.

South Burnett Wine

The South Burnett is the second-largest
Queensland wine region and wines produced here are served in the State Parliament and
leading Brisbane restaurants, as well as being exported to the USA and South-East Asia.

Wide Bay Burnett Area Consultative
Committee

The WBBACC is the region's
local Area Consultative Committee. It provides assistance with Federal Government
Programs that operate in the region - such as Jobstart, Dairy RAP and other
initiatives focused on improving employment opportunities.

Wide Bay Sport and Recreation
Council

The WBSRC was formed in 1996
after a regional workshop of sport and recreation stakeholders identified
the need to initiate a council for the continued development of sport and
recreation in the region. Its aim is to act as a community voice in the planning
and development of sports and recreational services and facilities in the
region.

Queensland Department of State
Development

The Queensland Department
of State Development operate a large number of programs to assist people
considering starting up or expanding a business in Queensland, or investing
in the State. They also provide valuable assistance for State exporters.
The Department maintains an office in Wide Bay and jointly funds the
SBLGA's Economic Development Manager position.

and Recreation

The Queensland Department
of Sport and Recreation exists to assist organisations to deliver better
sport and recreation opportunities to the State's residents and helps provide
participation environments that are accessible, sustainable and well managed.

Queensland Department of Primary
Industries

The DPI is the rural economic
development agency for Queensland's agriculture, forestry and fisheries
industries. The Department maintain a permanent research station in the South
Burnett at Kingaroy, and provide a wide range of assistance to agricultural
producers.

Farmlink is an online service
operated by the Queensland Department of Primary Industries. It's segmented
into a wide range of topics and categories, and it allows anyone involved
in agriculture to be able to send and receive information which is specifically
targeted to their sector of the industry.

peak organisation for marketing and promoting Queensland as a tourist destination
to interstate. intrastate and overseas visitors. Their site provides a vast
amount of tourist-related information about the State.

Regional Tourist board is the regional tourism organisation covering the
South Burnett. Their web site includes a list of attractions, accommodation,
events and maps relating to both the Fraser Coast and South
