About Us
The South Burnett Local Government Association is the umbrella organisation of the seven local government authorities of the South Burnett region of Queensland, Australia.

It's made up of representatives from the councils of Nanango, Rosalie, Kingaroy, Wondai, Murgon, Cherbourg and Kilkivan. Through the SBLGA, all seven councils work together to promote development, investment and employment opportunities for the benefit of all our region's residents. Our Vision
  • That the South Burnett region develops as a sustainable community - one that offers growing economic and social opportunities to all its residents whilst retaining its appeal as a great place to live and visit.
     
Our Mission
  • Through leadership and productive partnerships, to enhance sustainable economic opportunities, strengthen our communities and maintain the integrity of our environment.
     
Our Objectives
  • Maximise job creation through the promotion of industrial, agricultural, tourism, technology and environmental industry opportunities.
  • Develop and broaden the region's economic base.
  • Identify and market our regional industry comparative advantages.
  • Provide information and advice to promote development of the region - both to intending new businesses and to existing regional businesses.
  • Enhance access to government services in the region.
  • Ensure that management of natural resources is an integral part of the planning and procedures associated with regional development.
  • Encourage, promote, facilitate and monitor the economic and social development of the region.
  • Identify the economic and social needs of our residents and make them known to the Commonwealth and State Governments.
  • Co-operate in the preparation and submission of requests for assistance from Commonwealth and State Governments.
  • Foster co-operation and joint venturing between member Councils on projects of mutual benefit and/or to further joint interests.
  • Concentrate available resources on seeking solutions to mutual problems and achieve savings in resources that can be gained through co-operative effort.
